Alumacraft is proud to announce the release of Muskie Man, a captivating documentary that delves into
the remarkable life of the one-and-only Larry Ramsell, an 82-year-old angler whose unwavering passion
for muskie fishing has left an indelible mark on the angling community.
Through intimate storytelling, Muskie Man takes viewers on a journey through Larry’s extraordinary
life. From his extensive writings and contested fishing records to the countless individuals he has
inspired, this film celebrates the dedication and legacy of one of the sport’s true icons.
The film culminates in a thrilling expedition as Larry embarks on an almost 20-hour journey from his
Wisconsin home to the St. Lawrence River in Montreal. Guided by renowned muskie legend Mike Lazarus
and accompanied by his longtime friend Klaus, Larry sets his sights on one final dream: catching the
world-record muskie.
“Muskie Man isn’t just a fishing story—it’s a journey into the ‘why.’ Why do anglers become so
consumed by a fish and a way of fishing? This film dives into the heart of that obsession,” said Mitch
Duesling of Alumacraft. “As a brand that shares the same obsession for craft and dedication to the
water, we wanted to honor Larry’s incredible passion and contributions to the angling world,
amplifying his story for the fishing community AND beyond.”
